Description
For a tomatillo, Aurora’s yellow, mandarin-size fruit are exceptionally sweet. They make a splendid addition to sauces, are excellent pan-fried, and fully ripened make a great raw snack. Classic salsa recipes call for these tomatillos and plenty of chilli peppers. Young plants are pretty with lush green foliage. First buds can appear prior to transplanting outside. Fruit ripens considerably earlier than most comparable varieties.
Start seeds indoors in April till early May, plant outside when all danger of frost has passed. Staking is recommended, but not absolutely necessary.
First harvests begin in June.
