Bush tomatoes new varieties outdoor
NEW IN GERMANY: Grow tomatoes outdoors without pruning!
For the first time, there are varieties available for simplified cultivation to improve supply in winter. With the participation of many colleagues from amateur and commercial horticulture, young plant production, research, and consulting, these varieties were bred and approved ORGANICALLY in the field. The high-yielding new varieties are characterized by improved field resistance to late blight and brown rot, without compromising fruit quality. They also perform well with reduced fertilization and irrigation.
The new bush tomato varieties have been tested very positively, especially for cultivation in community-supported agriculture, with the possibility of processing them into passata, tomato paste, or whole fruits preserved for consumption during the winter. Drying in a professional facility has also been successful. For large-scale field cultivation, it is best to establish various sales channels, including the fresh market. Cultivation on straw mulch is recommended to keep the fruit dry and clean. Prevent mice and snails from eating the plants as much as possible. The main harvest takes place in August and September.
Cultivation
• In fields and beds: approx. 1 plant/m² depending on soil type and
water supply.
• In raised beds: 1 plant/m². The overhanging shoots
use the sides and the fruits remain clean.
• In containers from 8 liters with very fertile substrate
