Description
The kohlrabi Gigant/Superschmelz grows very large and can be harvested over many weeks. The base becomes woody, but the inside remains tender and juicy even in the largest specimens. It is suitable for eating fresh or steamed with butter and salt or in vegetable stir-fries. Sliced and breaded, it can be enjoyed as a cutlet. The young greens can be prepared like spinach. Gigant can be stored in the cellar until spring. It needs twice as much space in the bed as other kohlrabi varieties.
