Description
It is not without reason that the Vert de Provence is a widespread artichoke variety with a relatively good overwintering rate (also in Germany/Central Europe). If planted early in spring it can produce significant yields in its first year, which makes it particularly
attractive for our climate. The plants are healthy and extremely vigorous, which is reflected in the strong dark green leaf colour and the lush buds
(the actual crop). If you don‘t harvest the buds as a vegetable, or don‘t harvest them completely, they produce impressive flower heads (up to 15cm!) that attract numerous insects.
