Djagila and Shirina for outdoor cultivation!
The open field sweet peppers Djagila and Shirina were bred by Dr. Hartmut Spieß, a pioneer of biodynamic breeding, at Dottenfelder Hof. They were registered in 2024 and we are delighted to be able to propagate them here. Djagila has also been placed under the open source seed license and thus fortunately expands our range of explicitly freely accessible varieties. Both sweet peppers have been bred specifically for outdoor cultivation and are very high-yielding.
Now new: borage
2 great borage varieties: the blue Lena and the white Martha for a supplement in the open field: the leaves can be used in salads and have a fresh, cucumber-like taste. The flowers can also be used as edible decoration and are a magnet for insects when unharvested. Simple, robust and beautiful.

3 new outdoor bush tomatoes
Organic bush tomatoes have not yet been grown outdoors to any significant extent in Germany! The great advantage of bush tomatoes in general is that they are easy to grow: there is no need for thinning or training! The special thing about our outdoor bush tomatoes is the high yield in just a few harvest dates, which makes them particularly suitable for commercial and amateur processing. They have also been selected for field resistance to tomato late blight (phytophtora infestans).

About Culinaris seeds
CULINARIS – Saatgut für Lebensmittel is the young initiative for organic seeds. The focus of our selection is on varieties that thrive well under low-input conditions and is mainly based on the conditions in the amateur sector (house gardens, balconies, self-sufficiency). But vegetable growers with direct marketing will also find suitable varieties in the CULINARIS range. With our range of seeds, we are particularly targeting businesses that market young plants.
Seed license & organic certification
The open source seed license allows the unrestricted use of seeds and at the same time prevents their privatization. The license is also viral, i.e. all further developments of the licensed seeds are also included.
